It has been an incredibly long time since I have done a beauty post on this blog! I am not an expert in beauty so I tend to try to not give out my own opinion on things however I think sometimes we all need a regular person’s review on a product. I know I spend so much time researching brands and products before I actually purchase something. In today’s post I wanted to talk about a really hyped but underrated brand: Milk Makeup.
I’ve always been very curious about Milk just because it seemed like a very natural beauty brand that didn’t go with a lot of gimmicks in terms of their products. I also was curious because a lot of their products are not in a traditional form. A lot of their blushes, highlighters and concealers actually come in a stick form, which to me seems like a hit or a miss. Either its something you like or you don’t. Before I bought this foundation, I actually did own mini versions of their products but never really used them everyday enough to know if it was something I liked. However, I took the plunge and bought the Milk Makeup Blur Liquid Matte Foundation. I’ve heard a lot of comments about how this foundation blurs imperfections and stays up all day so I decided to give it a try.
(Just to add, Milk is cruelty-free, however they are not 100% vegan. Some products do include animal derived products but they do state that majority of their products do not.)
None of this was sponsored or gifted. Just wanted to state that 🙂

Now onto the foundation. So at first glance I was a little bit doubtful of the price vs. amount of product. It is a smaller than usual size. However since it a full coverage foundation you don’t need a lot. And by that I truly mean, you do not need a lot. Giving you the advice , the store associate gave me, “You only need 1-2 drops”. And yes you really only need 1 or 2 drops. Even two full drops is a lot to me. So I can see why there is not much product. Although I will say, it is on the pricey side. I’ll go more into detail as to whether it is worth it or not it a minute, but it is a higher end priced item.
The formula of it is surprisingly very lightweight. For a full coverage item, it is very soft and does not feel heavy on the skin. Because of that, at times you can forget that you are wearing a matte foundation. Throughout the day I didn’t notice much slipping or anything. Part of what makes the blurring effect is the fact that it has an almost built in primer factor to it. I’ve tried using it without primer (i know, the horror) and noticed some fading but nothing extremely noticeable.
I’ve worn this during school and work and can vouch for the fact it is long lasting on me. A lot of problems I’ve had with foundations is the wearing off. For a matte finish, I do think it does a stellar job of keeping the matte consistency throughout the day.
Now my one critique of this foundation is the color range. I think nowadays with more brands expanding their range, I do think that Milk Makeup should include more shades. Thankfully the shade I use, Warm Medium, is my perfect match but there is not much of a selection in comparison to other brands. I hope that they will expand upon this more to be able to cater to a bigger audience.
Is it worth the $40 price tag? I would say it is. By far for a full coverage, I have not seen it mess with my own skin yet still work inits function. If you are looking to splurge on a product, I would definitely add this to your options. However with any foundation, I would suggest getting a sample of it first to make sure it is your proper shade.
Hope you guys enjoyed this beauty post! It’s been a proper minute but let me know in the comments below if you have heard of MILK Makeup or what your favorite products are from their collection!
Until Next Time!
