Stripes & Summer & Shoulders
Now who says bright neon colors is the only thing you can wear this summer? Yeah it was probably me. As much as I would like to fill my wardrobe with every color possible, most of it’s black or white. However there is nothing wrong with going with a monochromatic look. If you want to add a little something extra, you can always take a note from this romper and go off the shoulder. If you walk into any retail store it is very likely that you will find at least one off the shoulder item in the very front. It is, in fact, the trend of the summer.
For this look I wanted to share with you all two of my favorite trends I’ve seen: stripes and off the shoulder.
If you’ve been following my blog you’ll know that I wrote about one of my favorite off the shoulder tops. You can find that post here. However this go around I want to talk about translating this trend for another style and season.
If you aren’t one for vibrant colors or bell sleeves, I would check out a simple off the shoulder romper or top. I will admit that OTS tops aren’t my favorites because they can be somewhat difficult to pair with. I know I struggle with my top a lot more than I probably should. Plus a romper is the essential piece for any summer wardrobe.
No one has the time in the summer to plan out a whole outfit from head to toe. Rompers are more practical to style and still allow you to do all of your activities that you need to do. A romper is a safe bet whether you’re planning to run errands all day or hang out at the park.
A Petite Romper Win
It is always a hit or a miss when buying a petite piece, which made me a bit nervous purchasing this from Boohoo. I was also a little cautious because I’ve never purchased from their site before. However I totally fell in love with this romper the minute I opened it! For the first time I have finally found an actual store that carries a fashionable petite section. I can’t stress that enough, if you are in the same boat as me then you will probably understand.
I also purchased a bodysuit , also from the petite section, that I will write about in a later post.
To finish off this look, I just paired the romper with a pair of sneakers I got from Forever 21. Of course you can also dress this up with heels or wedges. For this shoot I decided to keep it fairly casual for a day in the park.
Be sure to let me know in the comments below what you think about this romper trend for the summer. Comment as well if you have any trend you’re excited to try out.
